Plans for a medical marijuana dispensary at 1385 Cambridge St. in Inman Square cannot move forward until the applicant discusses the project with a nearby church and nursery school, Planning Board members unanimously decided at a public hearing for the project Jan. 2.
The proposed Commonwealth Alternative Care dispensary, which requires a Special Permit for medical marijuana dispensary use in a Business B district–an area allowing a wide range of retail uses and more intense development–would be around 3,145 square feet on the ground floor, with corporate offices on the second and third floor.
In response to Planning Board feedback from the previous session of the hearing, the plan now includes window decals and blade signs for pedestrians, and devotes 380 instead of 300 feet to retail space, said Attorney Mike Ross of Prince Lobel in Boston, who represents applicant Jonathan Green. Ross announced that Green will run a non-marijuana health product shop out of that space, rather than rent it to a tenant.
