ADRIAN — Monday’s Adrian City Commission meeting will be highlighted by medical marijuana while the premeeting will feature water and sewer rates and property matters.
At the meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, the ordinances for both medical marijuana overlay districts, east and west, will be introduced and have a first reading. The commission will not vote on them until the second meeting in March, but there will be an opportunity Monday for the public to speak on these potential planning decisions.
The other medical marijuana-related agenda item will be the second reading and potential adoption of an ordinance to amend the city’s zoning regulations and zoning map by switching 1301 S. Main St. from the B-4 Shopping Center District and designating it B-2 Community Business District.
At a previous city planning commission meeting, the new owner of the 1301 S. Main building, which is just north of Aubree’s Pizzeria and Grill, stated she was planning to make the building into a medical marijuana provisioning center. To do so, she needs a zoning change
