At the annual Town Meeting on May 8, Boxford voters will have a chance to weigh in on prohibiting recreational marijuana stores by amending town bylaws. They also will vote on rezoning a 117-acre parcel in the western part of town for multifamily elderly housing. An $18 million request for municipal buildings that included renovating the existing town hall/library, moving the Council on Aging, and building a new DPW facility was withdrawn just before the warrant was finalized after town officials discovered that town hall needs extensive repairs to the water filtration system. Instead, voters will be asked to approve $95,000 in additional consulting research and design costs for further development of the municipal building plan. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the Masconomet Regional High School auditorium, 20 Endicott Road.
