MEDWAY – The Medway Democratic Town Committee will host an informational forum on recreational marijuana later this month, ahead of March votes on the matter.
The forum is set to take place on Feb. 28 at the Sanford Hall meeting room at Town Hall. Committee Chairman Brian Adams said the event would include members of the Board of Selectmen, town administration, the police chief and a member of the state Cannabis Control Commission.
“They’ll be discussing the new laws about recreational marijuana,” he said. “Recreational marijuana is becoming a hot topic and, with the vote coming up, we want to make sure we get as much correct information out there as possible.”
Local citizens are slated to vote – at the polls on March 6 and later at Town Meeting – on whether recreational stores will be allowed in Medway. Adams said the session will not be a debate on the merits of the law, but would include information about what the town needs to do after the votes.
