Nevada marijuana dispensaries say it’s hard to find qualified, serious employees

Nevada marijuana dispensaries, which have sold recreational products for nearly a year now, are struggling to find and retain qualified, serious employees, according to a top marijuana lobbyist.
Will Adler, director of the Sierra Cannabis Coalition, said hundreds of people apply for open dispensary jobs, but many are unqualified, unable to pass a background check, or not fit to work in a heavily regulated industry.
“They feel like because it’s marijuana based, they’ll have a laid-back atmosphere, very loose and fun place to work when really we’re actually the most regulated business in Nevada.”
“There’s a reality shock between ‘Hey marijuana is fun and cool’ and what it takes to work here, follow the law and follow the regulations to the right degree,” Adler said.
Applicants must be
